Outpatient Improvement Journey

Learn how Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust implemented an Outpatient Improvement Programme to improve their Outpatient Service.

The Trust instigated a clinical incident response and an outpatient improvement programme and identified dedicated managers to lead the programme, following an ‘Inadequate’ rating from CQC in 2015. The Trust set up an executive sponsored Outpatient Improvement Board to provide assurance and a governance framework, and a business case was agreed to invest in additional administrative staff and call centre technology.

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust focused on three main areas, including Bookings, OPD Reception, and Nursing as part of their Improvement Programme.
