Access evidence on Pharmacy & Medicines

Data collection for the 2017 Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation benchmarking project is open

The Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation project is open to all commissioners in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. To register, and begin inputting your data, please login to the members' area. Data collection, will run until 21st July 2017. As a member organisation of the NHS Benchmarking Network, there is no additional cost to participate in this project.

The Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation (commissioner) project focuses on practices, protocols, tools, local management arrangements, resourcing, medicines optimisation and effectiveness. This project links with a project on the same topic for providers. Participation will provide invaluable information for commissioners wishing to plan and implement changes to drive improvement in outcomes and deliver value for money.

The projects outputs will include an online interactive toolkit consolidating all the metrics collected, a high level national report outlining key messages and findings, a bespoke report for participants and free attendance at our Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation event on 18th October 2017.

The timescales for this project are as follows:

  • Project opens for data collection – 17th May 2017
  • Project closes for data collection – 21st July 2017
  • Data validation – August and September 2017
  • First draft comparisons and analysis toolkit – September 2017
  • Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation Benchmarking Conference (London) – 18th October 2017
  • Final reports – November 2017

Project registration and data collection can be accessed through the members' area.
