We are delighted to launch draft programmes for our 2018 annual benchmarking conferences, held from September to November. The conferences are a fantastic opportunity to hear latest developments and innovations, benchmarking findings and network with peers.
All Network members are welcome to attend the benchmarking conferences, and we always look forward to meeting our project participants. A benefit of Network membership is free attendance at our conferences, where your team will hear the latest project findings delivered by our Support Team.
Benchmarking & Good Practice in Radiology Services
We will be launching the conference season with Benchmarking & Good Practice in Radiology Services, this event is on Thursday 20th September. We are delighted to welcome Kath Halliday, Clinical Lead for NHS Improvement Radiology GIRFT programme as Keynote for the conference, and there will be a particular focus on advanced practice and workforce from our membership good practice.
Benchmarking & Good Practice in Operating Theatres
Following this will be our biennial event, Benchmarking & Good Practice in Operating Theatres, on Wednesday 10th October. Following some excellent good practice highlighted in the recent benchmarking data collection, the conference will mainly focus on member good practice presentations. There will be themes on theatre scheduling and workforce developments.
Benchmarking & Good Practice in Pharmacy
We will host our Pharmacy conference a week later on Tuesday 16th October, where we will be welcoming NHS Improvement. They will provide updates on their national programmes, including Medicines Safety Programme. We are also pleased to welcome back Professor Liz Kay, who will be presenting a follow-up session to her well-received Shared stores presentation from 2017.
Benchmarking & Good Practice in CAMHS
November begins with Benchmarking & Good Practice in CAMHS (Child & Adolescent Mental Health services), on Tuesday 6th November. We are delighted to announce a range of excellent speakers from different sectors. Chaired by Julian Emms, Chief Executive of Berkshire Healthcare NHS Trust, the conference welcomes Sean Duggan, Chief Executive of the Mental Health Network, Louis Appleby, Director of NCISH, and Dr Prathiba Chitsabesan, Associate National Clinical Director for CAMHS, NHS England.
Benchmarking & Good Practice in Community Services
We will be returning to Birmingham for the Benchmarking & Good Practice in Community Services on Wednesday 7th November, which will be held at the ICC. We are delighted to welcome back Professor Martin Vernon, NCD for Older People & Person-Centred Integrated Care, NHS England, who will be presenting the keynote address. We are excited to welcome representatives from the University of Bologna, Italy, who will deliver an international perspective to community hospital healthcare. Results from a number of the 26 services covered in the benchmarking project will be presented by our Support Team.
Benchmarking & Good Practice in Mental Health Services
We conclude 2018 with our national benchmarking conference on Benchmarking & Good Practice in Mental Health Services. Julian Emms, Chief Executive of Berkshire Healthcare NHS Trust will be Chairing this event, where we will be welcoming Emily Hewlett from the OECD, and Claire Murdoch, National Director for Mental Health, NHS England. A range of good practice will also be heard from our membership.
