At the 2016 Community Services Conference, the NHSBN Support Team launched a new initiative for providers of community services, to enhance the existing community hospitals and community services benchmarking projects.
The Network support team have been working with the Aspirant Community Foundation Trust (ACFT) benchmarking group, consisting of 14 providers led by David Law, CEO of Hertfordshire Community Trust. In response to a lack of data available nationally, and a need for timely data collection to provide assurance to community organisations of their performance on key identified areas, ACFT have developed a set of metrics which are reported on a monthly, rather than an annual basis.
The Network will be taking over the delivery of the project from November cycle. All providers of community based care, who are members of the NHS Benchmarking Network, are invited to get involved. Participants submit their data via an excel spreadsheet, and outputs will be available within 10 working days.
Outputs include access to a toolkit, comparing your position against the rest of the cohort, and the facility to generate a PDF report for use in Board meetings, discussion with Service Managers, and internal performance monitoring.
