‘Optimising your use of benchmarking information’ AphA 2019 workshop

Members of the NHS Benchmarking Network recently spoke at the 2019 Association of Professional Healthcare Analysts (AphA) Annual Conference*.

This two-day annual conference covered a range of topic areas such as; a video address from the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care showing support for healthcare analysts; James Freed, Chief Information Officer, Health Education England talking about how to learn and develop when mistakes occur; plus a number of plenary speakers and workshops.

The NHS Benchmarking Network delivered a workshop on, ‘Optimising your use of benchmarking information’, facilitated by Stephen Watkins, Director, Stephen Day, Senior Information Analyst and Dave Barker, Business Intelligence Analyst.

The workshop was received positively by delegates and covered:

  • How to make use of the unique data views available

  • The comprehensive coverage of data and intelligence not covered by central Information sources

  • Member led topics for commissioners, mental health, acute and community providers, and

  • A demonstration of the ICS Benchmarker due for publication in October.
