Patient First review

Thank you to Patient First 2017 for hosting us at last month’s successful exhibition on Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd November. Our Support Team spoke to many delegates over the two days, a focus of which was our Theatres project.

Our Theatres project is run bi-annually, and has been confirmed to run in our 2018/19 work programme. Next year’s work programme will be shared soon on our social media pages, Twitter and LinkedIn, where you can keep up to date with all our activity.

Patient First welcomed an incredible 3,700 delegates, where we were one of 180 exhibitors. This year, Patient First partnered with NAMDET (National Association of Medical Device Educators and Trainers) as education collaborators. Their involvement encouraged training and support to reach medical engineers, safety officers, and operating department practitioners from the NHS and private sectors. NAMDET provided the opportunity for delegates to hear best practice, device safety and procurement topics throughout the two-day event.

In addition, NHS Improvement worked in partnership with Patient First to host 2017’s Infection Prevention & Control conference. With Healthcare Associated Infections (HCAI) reportedly costing the NHS £1billion a year, NHS Improvement’s conference encouraged networking between healthcare professionals and practical solutions to improve patient care and reduce infections, in turn reducing the associated cost.

Our Support Team enjoyed speaking with all delegates at this event. We have processed all queries from this event and look forward to continuing conversation with our new contacts.
