Primary Care

Project Overview

Sustainability of Primary Care is a key priority for the NHS. This benchmarking project will provide CCGs with insight to support delivery of the GP Forward View, to support your local primary care sustainability and transformation work.

Current CCG members have told us that benchmarking activity, workforce, and patient outcomes and experience, is important for them.

Therefore we have developed a project that meets the needs of CCGs with robust benchmarking insight and share best practice learning with other CCGs to support each other to implement primary care transformation.

This project is for all commissioners. Subscribing members will receive:

  • A high level national report outlining key messages and metrics for Primary Care nationally
  • A bespoke dashboard report outlining key messages and metrics, which compares your local position against nationally reported positions

2017/18 benchmarking project

In 2017, 26 member organisations submitted data via the supplementary data collection. This has enabled the project to provide analysis into enhanced services, the GP workforce and the primary care team within the CCG. Bespoke reports were produced for all participating CCGs using the nationally and locally sourced data in Spring 2018.

Download a summary of the project together with the 2017 highlights.

2018/19 benchmarking project
