Using our specialist benchmarking technology, we can provide cuts of the data to offer insight to organisations or collaboratives across the full scope of services. Be this an ICB trying to better understand their providers service delivery, a devolved nation or geographical region looking to drive strategic improvement or a provider collaborative trying to better understand service provision across their patch.
Our team are well placed at working with organisations across all four nations, to provide detailed data illustrations alongside support interpreting and gleaning insight from this. Often, without additional data burden to providers.
Working with the NHS Benchmarking Network, clients can build on this data breakdown to inform forward planning across a variety of areas including activity, access, waiting times/lists, finances, workforce and patient safety.
Time Series Views
Having been operating for close to 30 years, the NHS Benchmarking Network holds data from a variety of providers across the country focused on a variety of services – in some instances dating back over ten years.
We have worked with a number of organisations to support their understanding in how their position has shifted over time periods. This can support organisations in understanding the impact that changes to their population, workforce profile or delivery mechanisms have had on their wider performance and is of particular use to organisations that have undergone much change in the recent past.
For a number of our data sets, we are uniquely placed to offer this level of insight to organisations that have membership of the network and have flexibility in how this is presented to clients.
Data Deep Dives
The NHS Benchmarking Network are able to harness the information gathered through our members programme, to carry out data deep dives. These consist of a thorough analysis of key metrics to uncover trends, patterns, and anomalies within around a given theme, policy or key line of enquiry. By examining historical performance, segment-level insights, and outliers, we can support organisations in identifying actionable opportunities for improvement and strategic decision-making. The analysis can be used to better understand strengths to build on and areas requiring attention, providing a data-driven foundation for next steps to support wider decision making.
Some examples of how these can be used are set out below:
State of the Nation Style Outputs
Policy adoption or adherence measures
Reports to support research findings or questions
Demand and Capacity Reviews
Health Inequalities
Using a combination of member data, alongside publicly available data visible via our National Indicators tool, the NHS Benchmarking Network can provide key insights that can be used as a practical tool tool for organisations aiming to strengthen their understanding of, and approach to, population health.
