Now in its 12th year, the NHS Benchmarking Network’s Managing Frailty in a Bed-Based Setting dataset provides a comprehensive overview of care for older people across acute and community hospital settings. Since its inception in 2014, the programme has built a rich evidence base to support service improvement, benchmarking, and best practice sharing.
Following member feedback, reporting has evolved to provide a more tailored, site-level view of performance, enabling participating organisations to better understand local variation, identify opportunities for improvement, and support operational and strategic planning.
By summarising key performance, activity, workforce and quality metrics, the programme supports services to deliver safe, effective, and high-quality care for older people in bed-based settings.
