The Mental Health Pharmacy Benchmarking dataset was initially developed in response to member feedback from provider organisations across the South of England. Following the strong engagement and value demonstrated through the 2024/25 pilot data collection, the project has now been formally adopted into the NHS Benchmarking Network’s national programme.
The 2024/25 pilot included 40 submissions from provider organisations across England and Wales, creating a robust and meaningful dataset. The geographical spread of participating organisations provides valuable peer comparison opportunities and benchmarking insight for all contributors.
The programme focuses on understanding variation, identifying best practice, and supporting improvement in mental health pharmacy services. By bringing together consistent, comparable data, it supports service development, workforce planning, and quality improvement across provider organisations.
