The NHS Benchmarking Network team joined colleagues at the Community Hospitals Association Conference in Swindon on 7–8 May 2026, sharing information about the Network and the benchmarking programmes available to members.

It was a brilliant couple of days, full of energy, ideas and conversations about the future of community hospital healthcare. The plenary sessions and workshops sparked lots of discussion around integrated care, partnership working and the growing role of Community Hospitals in supporting people closer to home. We also heard from Chris Whitty on the important role Community Hospitals can play in supporting the NHS 10 Year Health Plan. The Network’s National Audit of Care at the End of Life team were also there, contributing to discussions on quality improvement and shared learning.

The event was a great opportunity to meet new people, reconnect with colleagues and hear the strong appetite across the sector for benchmarking, networking and learning from each other. We left feeling inspired and excited to continue developing projects that highlight the impact of community hospital care.
